A reason to celebrate! The Fauré Quartett releases new album
The Fauré Quartett remains an experiment, even after 25 years. One reason for this is the instrumentation: over the centuries, composers somehow decided to write less often for this formation than what were to become more standard ensembles of chamber music. The success of the present coterie depends above all on four distinct musical personalities who have made up the ensemble since its foundation. Erika Geldsetzer and Sascha Frömbling, Konstantin Heidrich and Dirk Mommertz pull off the feat of preserving individuality but remaining a collective, but without imposing artistic limitations that would have them inhabit either one or the other creative form of existence.
All their artistic experience, creativity and years of working together have been poured into their new album, which, just like the special ensemble, hides a musical treasure behind a simple name: Fauré Quartett.
The album "Fauré Quartett" with the two piano quartets by Gabriel Fauré and a selection of songs arranged for piano quartet will be released on October 2, 2020 by Berlin Classics on CD and digitally on all streaming and download platforms.
