Tamar Halperin studied piano and harpsichord in Tel Aviv, Basel, and New York. In 2009 she received a doctor degree from the Juilliard School, having written a dissertation on Bach. Tamar is recipient of the Hessischer Kulturpreis 2016 and recorded for labels such as Decca, Neos, Neue Meister and Act (including the two-time Echo award winning "Wunderkammer" with Michael Wollny). Her childhood was spent training to be a professional tennis player. Now she lives with her husband in a small village.
