Contemporary organ sounds – Iveta Apkalna interprets Thierry Escaich’s “Évocation II”
To sweeten the waiting time for the world premiere recording on the organ of the Elbphilharmonie, Berlin Classics releases another work from the album "Light and Dark".
As before with Janacek and Kalejs, titular organist Iveta Apkalna also takes Thierry Escaich's "Évocation II" elegantly and skilfully by the hand.
The composer himself is reminded of "African dances" by the "obsessive" pulsation on note C. Apkalna adds her own touch to the work. An absolute "must have" for lovers of organ music and an exciting discovery for friends of classical music!
From September 7, 2018 the album can be purchased as CD and vinyl, as well as from JPC in a special edition. Digitally conserved, the album will also be available on all current streaming and download platforms.
