Eckart Runge & Pianist Jacques Ammon – ‘Adelaide’: Beethoven’s famous song performed for piano and cello
Cellist Eckart Runge & pianist Jacques Ammon go back to the 19th century with their latest single and once again encounter Ludwig van Beethoven: this time they have chosen the composer's probably most famous song 'Adelaide' (1795/96), which has now been arranged in an exciting new version for piano and cello. Accordingly, no words are heard in this version, but the impressive images of nature from the poem by Friedrich von Matthisson set to music by Beethoven shimmer latently through. The arrangements of the songs for this instrumental pairing were created in collaboration with the well-known composer and arranger Wolf Kerschek. The approach was not only to transpose the works, but also to take a new look at them through the tonal possibilities of the instruments and the artistic abilities of the two musicians.
