First foretaste of Felix Klieser’s #Missionmozart
In September of this year the hornist Felix Klieser went to Salzburg. The reason: In Mozart's hometown he recorded Mozart's four Horn Concertos with the world-famous Camerata Salzburg. Today there is the first listening to his upcoming album "Mozart: Horn Concertos 1-4": Horn Concerto No. 1 in D Major K.412/518: I. Allegro.
Behind Mozart's compositions for brass instruments of all kinds there have always been important soloists. This is also the case with the Horn Concertos. Mozart wrote them for the horn player and close friend from his childhood, Joseph Leitgeb. Although numbered first, this Horn Concerto was actually the last of the four Mozart composed. Compared to the other three concertos, it has three movements instead of two. It is also simpler in scope and technique. Probably a consideration of Leitgeb's advanced age by the composer.
The first foretaste of Felix Klieser's interpretation is now available on all platforms.
