“Illumination“ – 4×4 = 1
The Silver-Garburg Piano Duo sets new standards in duo playing on one or two grand pianos. They have already performed on major stages such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, the Vienna Musikverein and the Sydney Opera House. Now they are releasing their latest album "Illumination" at Berlin Classics - and the name says it all: great works are illuminated in a new way, highlighting the versatility of Romantic composers. It's an examination of the tense relationship between original work and arrangement of three great works by two great composers: Liszt arranged by Saint-Saëns, Schumann and Saint-Saëns by Debussy.
"All three versions remained utterly true to their reference points and can therefore be seen as 'translations'. The coherence of structure within the imaginative narrative of these Romantic works comes as a revelation in the piano versions," explains Gil Garburg.
Music played by four hands, brought to life by two Israelis living in Berlin.
The album will be released on 12.04.2019.
