Iveta Apkalna performs ‘Bach: Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme’ BWV 645 on her new single
With her new single, Iveta Apkalna once again takes the listeners into the world of Johann Sebastian Bach: After having recently released the 'Trio Sonata' BWV 527, she now performs the piece 'Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme' BWV 645. Bach musically adapted many elements of the fourth movement 'Zion hört die Wächter singen' of his cantata 'Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme' BWV 140. The different voices of the orchestra are brought together on the organ instrument, forming a simple but interesting arrangement. The single is part of their upcoming album 'Triptychon', which will include works by Bach as well as pieces by Pēteris Vasks and Franz Liszt.
'Bach: Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme' BWV 645 is available digitally on all music platforms.
