Matthias Höfs plays music by Samuel Scheidt on his new single
The German composer Samuel Scheidt is one of the well-known musicians of the early Baroque period. His repertoire is still performed and reinterpreted today. Trumpeter Matthias Höfs has also taken an interest in the organist's compositions and releases an arrangement of one of Scheidt's pieces as single today: it is the Canzon 'Cornetto', SSWV 56, which can now be heard in an arrangement for four trumpets. The single release is part of the upcoming album 'Festive Trumpets for Christmas' - the new Christmas album by Matthias Höfs, which will be released on 5 November by Berlin Classics.
The single 'Scheidt: Canzon 'Cornetto', SSWV 56' is available digitally on all music platforms.
