The release concert by Christiane Karg and Sebastian Knauer
On April 10th, 2017, Christiane Karg presents her new album "Parfum" at the Institut Français, accompanied by Sebastian Knauer on the piano. He exclusively presents his new album "Bach and Sons II", which will be released on May 5th, 2017 at Berlin Classics.
The new album by Christian Karg! It is pure poetry - the starting point of the recording was Christiane Karg's engagement with the poetic works of Charles Baudelaire, Leconte de Lisle, Paul Verlaine and Victor Hugo. A linguistic poetry, which has a congenial counterpart in the impressionistic music of the century turn of the 19th to the 20th century.
Christiane Karg has finally found works by Duparc, Koechlin, Debussy or Ravel for their new album. With her voice, Christiane Karg expresses these poetic fragrances, these sound colors. Poetry and music, word and song merge into "parfum"!
Bach and Sons II reflects Sebastian Knauer's confrontation with Bach and his influence on the history of music. While his ÜberBach uses a compositional approach to the study of Bach's music, Bach and Sons II presents some of the great repertoire of the old master. With the Zürcher Kammerorchester, Knauer plays the piano concertos A major (BWV 1055) and the F minor (BWV1056) by Johann Sebastian Bach as well as the Piano Concerto F minor by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach as well as the concert G major by Carl-Philipp Emanuel Bach Wq. 43.5). Knauer's old friend and chamber music colleague Daniel Hope is coming for another concert.
