The Zurich Chamber Singers are back with a new single
The consequences of the pandemic did not leave the Zurich Chamber Singers unaffected either, who had to cancel concerts and recordings. But for the latter, an opportunity emerged at the beginning of this year, which the choir with conductor and ensemble leader Christian Erny took advantage of. The result was a recording of Domenico Scarlatti's musical setting of the medieval funeral poem 'Stabat Mater'. "It's really 25 minutes of the highest intensity with ten solo voices cast, and it goes from the innermost sorrow, from the most intimate despair, to operatic drama that at times you feel the piece is exploding" (Christian Erny). In their first single, the Zurich Chamber Singers now present the piece 'Stabat mater: V. Sancta mater, istud agas'.
'Stabat mater: V. Sancta mater, istud agas' is available digitally on all music platforms.
