Trumpet Concerto in A-Flat Major (Andante maestoso) – The first single by the upcoming youngster Simon Höfele is out now!

Simon Höfele is one of the upcoming interpreters of the trumpet scene. As ECHO Rising Star and “Junger Wilder” at the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the 25-year-old presents the core repertoire for trumpet and the condensate of his time as BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist with his debut album at Berlin Classics.

At the age of seven he began playing the trumpet in a family full of woodwind players: the father bassoonist, the mother piccolo flutist, an uncle oboist and the other clarinetist. A small toy fanfare on the wall was the deciding factor for his decision: “I blew into it and knew: I want to play the trumpet”. Meanwhile, he tours all over the world and plays in the big halls like the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the St. Luke’s Church in London or the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

In his new album “Standards“, which will be released on January 31, 2020, he interprets the great works of the trumpet literature of Haydn, Hummel, Copland and Arutjunjan. The latter was also the composer of the first glimpse of the upcoming album. “Trumpet Concerto in A-Flat Major (Andante maestoso)” which is now available for download and streaming gives a magnificent taste of what’s to come.
